The Good Samaritan Society of De Smet was among a handful of South Dakota nursing homes to be ranked “Top Performer Status” for 2017-2018 by U.S. News & World Report.
A recognized leader in health rankings, U.S. News evaluates nursing staff, health inspection findings and quality of medical care to rate nursing homes throughout the United States.
In order to qualify as a U.S. News Best Nursing Home, each home must earn an overall rating of 4.5 or above.
South Dakota is home to a total of 109 nursing homes, and only 14 of those homes were on the “Top Performer Status” list.
Katlin Johnson, director of the Good Samaritan Society in De Smet, said that she is proud of the staff at the center and that receiving this high rating is something that they should be proud of too.
