She was crowned by last year’s winner, Lindsay Hillestad of Lake Preston.
Weise was one of 13 contestants from De Smet, Lake Preston and Arlington vying for the crown. A daughter of Gina Weise, Michael Weise and Audrey Saylor, Weise won a $250 scholarship from the event’s sponsors, the Progressive Community Women (PCW) of Lake Preston. The PCW also will sponsor Weise’s trip in January to compete in the state snow queen contest in Aberdeen.
American Engineered Products in De Smet sponsored Weise in the Kingsbury County contest.
Weise’s future plans are to study biomedical engineering.
The other four finalists included Avery Meyer of Arlington, first runner-up, sponsored by Flowers by Betsy; Brenna Woodcock of Lake Preston, second runner-up, sponsored by Lake Preston Auto; BreyAnna Bunker of Lake Preston, who was also named Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants, sponsored by Virchow Insurance & Seed; and Jael Lundquist of Arlington, sponsored by Forever Young Salon & Spa.
